Once-splendid and magnificent Shrine of Sayida Ruqaya, daughter of Imam Al-Hassan (AS) located in Najaf became severely damaged due to the weight of time, leaving millions of worshippers unable to reconnect with God in a sacred place like this one.

Thus, in 2013 Al Burhan Foundation, after seeing the need of reviving the Shrine into its original splendour, undertook multifaceted urgent maintenance works combining technical analysis, planning, plastering and repainting of the Shrine.

Taj Al-Deen Mosque Renovation

This preeminent place of worship situated in Al-Hafriya and in short distance from Kut witnessed in-depth process of rejuvenation between 2012 and 2013. Dedicated to Sayid Taj Al-Deen, the son of Imam Sajad (AS), the mosque has been undervalued for many decades.

However, after Al-Burhan Foundation has taken care of the Taj Al-Deen Mosque, not only its original splendour has been retrieved, but also the newest technologies had been installed for the comfort of the worshippers and durability of the building.

Kut Orphanage Modernisation

Dar Al-Baraim, orphanage located in Kut has been taken under the patronage of Mr Imad Burhan, founder of Al-Burhan Foundation in 2012. Mr Burhan has visited the orphanage and its residents on multiple occasions between 2012 and 2013, before he announced that complete renovation and modernisation will be in place.

Once all the needs of the pupils had been identified and addressed, both the interior as well as the exterior have been renovated and painted in bright happy colours. Children were given chance to sleep in new and comfortable beds, to use clean and functional bathrooms, to learn by using Internet and high-quality LG desktop computers in addition to spend their leisure time at newly-built football pitch.

Asmaa Allah Al-Husna Project

This recent housing project initiated in 2014 by Mr Haider Jawad Burhan from Al-Burhan Foundation, gave chance to 99 families of Kut to start a new live in safe and secure accommodation. All houses, each carrying one of 99 names of the God, were given to the chosen families for free and thus allowed them to leave their old, impoverished households behind.

BIAP Road Renovation

The fact that Iraq suffered greatly during the recent wars does not require further explanation. Even the surrounding areas of the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) which are filled with various international companies and institutions has been demolished severely.

The very first impression of any visitor to Iraq, the road linking BIAP with Baghdad was filled with holes, cracks and multiple hazards, making the journey not safe for the passing vehicles.

Al-Burhan Primary School built by Mr Imad Burhan was created in order to offer education to the less fortunate children living in Kut, who otherwise would face big difficulties in accessing and gaining knowledge.

Focused on the Primary School children, it ensures broad development of the pupils and prepares them for their further educational career. Being able to read, write and to do maths are fundamental skills needed by everyone to develop and prosper and Al-Burhan Foundation gives chance to the future of Iraq to live successful life once they will grow up and support development of the country themselves.

Donation Scheme

Al-Burhan Foundation

In its never-ending striving to support Iraqis in need, Al-Burhan Foundation initiated donation scheme. Every nominated and impoverished family, after it passes verification checks, is granted regular or a one-off financial aid, depending on the case.

Currently the scheme includes households with disabled members of the family, orphans, dependants of the Popular Mobilisation Forces martyrs as well as other less fortunate people. Thanks to the Al-Burhan Foundation support, these people are now able to lead a respected life, send their children to school and cure the sick.

Dream Project

The Dream Project (Ḥulm - حلم) was initiated in the beginning of March 2018 and, unlike many of the previous projects of Al-Burhan Foundation, it is available not only to the community located in Kut, but also to any Iraqi citizen residing within the country’s borders.

This project is managed by Milad Al-Musawi and Mustafa Jafar who personally collect and review all inquiries sent by applicants who wish their biggest and reasonable dream to become true.

BIAP Road Clean for Pedestrians

Al-Burhan Foundation does not only care for the people of Iraq but also for the local environment. After expansive restoration of the BIAP Road in Baghdad, the link between Baghdad International Airport and the city centre began slowly proceed towards despair. Unkempt, full of garbage and lacking the much-needed welcoming character, the road needed to be taken care of. On one November morning in 2017, another ABF project began.

Water Distribution Project

Summer 2018 was extremely harsh for Iraq and its citizens due to high temperatures and drought. This time was very difficult for every living being in Iraq but certain groups of people suffered the most. Refugees living in camps and villagers inhabiting remote villages had little chance to get access to clean water. Sanabel Al-Burhan follows other Al-Burhan Foundation’s projects devoted to vulnerable children in Iraq and focuses on the youngsters from impoverished families who, due to extremely difficult living conditions, are enforced to recover waste from the landfills. Ghaith Al-Burhan

Ghaith Al-Burhan project was initiated in 2018 and, similarly to other projects, focuses on supporting Iraqis who, due to their disabilities, poverty etc, struggle to live a good and respectable life. The first two people who benefitted from this project were two elders living in Baghdad. Without a family and income, they suffered from loneliness and poverty until the Al-Burhan Foundation took them under their wings. Soon they were taken care of and received the much needed attention and financial needs to lead a happy life.
